Chemgrate® Load Tables

The load and deflection data provided in these tables are intended for use as a guide only, to help determine grating size for a given application. The use of different resin systems and top surfaces can produce variations, of plus or minus 20%, in deflection. Operating conditions and environments contribute to the performance of the grating. Since these conditions are not controllable, we cannot guarantee the performance of the grating.

Because FRP products have a low modulus of elasticity, but have a high tensile strength, loads are generally limited to the allowable deflection determined by the end user. The following tables were prepared for use with supports on two sides only. They show the approximate load required for a 1% deflection. Table II has two sets of numbers, the first representing deflection at the unsupported end of a panel, and a second figure showing failure of the grating at 10:1 safety factor (grating will fail at ten times the load shown). Table III represents an evenly distributed, stationary load.
