 ll Safety Grating Products are excellent candidates for
fabrication and installation as stair treads. The versatile walking surfaces
offered by Grip strut, Per-O Grip, Grate-Lock and Traction Tread offer products suitable
for nearly all applications. Stair treads are manufactured with welded end carrier
plates which are pre-punched with holes allowing the treads to be bolted to the stair
stringers. In many cases, the side margin of standard safety grating channels
provides a defined visible nosing line. Where increased visibility and safety are
desired, specify the products shown with supplementary cast abrasive, Traction Tread, or
formed checker plate nosings. |

The load data takes eccentric loads into consideration. Although load values include allowances for normal impact conditions and unusual pedestrian traffic, be sure to make provisions for special uses and loads involving unusual impact or vibratory forces. Load carrying capacity of stair treads increases as channel height and gauge of material increase. |
